Hello, friend! ☺️

Welcome to my first blog! I am so excited to utilize this space to connect with my current ministry partners and potential ministry partners. I would not be able to do what I do without your support, prayers, and provisions. Know that I am always eternally grateful for you. 

For this first blog, I wanted to share a little bit about the organization I will be serving: Beauty for Ashes. Beauty for Ashes seeks to bring healing into the lives of women across the globe. Most of us have experienced a trying time, a hardship, or even a trauma. I personally connect with the mission of Beauty for Ashes because they seek to fully embody Isaiah 61:3, 

“and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor” (New International Version). 

After my mom passed away from heart failure when I was 18, I began to experience the inescapable pain of grief. Even today, I still have not been able to escape its painful grasp. However, I have learned to accept grief and to view it as a constant reminder of the love I have for my mom. Grief is the natural outpouring of the love you have for someone. 

While I will never cease to miss my mom, my pain and grief has allowed me to connect with others who have experienced similar struggles. In my senior year of college, one of my friend’s fiancé died in a car accident the day after Christmas. She completely separated herself from the world around her. 

I saw myself in her – a person who was hurting, confused, and full of grief. Through our shared pain, we were able to help one another. It felt good to share our grief with each other – we both understood the pain of losing someone so close to you. 

Beauty for Ashes brings healing to women across the globe. We meet them where we are and cover them with a crown of beauty by knowing their worth, identity, and purpose are all found in God. Everyone’s story is powerful, and our stories help us connect with others. 

I am excited to see God guide us as we walk through this new season together. Through the help, support, and prayers of my ministry partner team, I trust that we can be the hands and feet of Christ to the world.
